MBiome team is presently working on three main projects.

Esophageal Cancer Reference Database (ECRD):

Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (ESCC) is among the top ten most frequent malignancies worldwide. MBiome is developing a compendium for ESCC, which is named ‘Esophageal Cancer Reference Database (ECRD)’. Our curators are working on extracting relevant information for the important biomarkers published in high-throughput and other experimental studies. This database will involve genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics data, which will help the researchers world-wide to quickly upgrade their understanding on the biological characteristics and the roles of these biomarkers, and will exceedingly help them design new drugs for specific targets. It is currently under development using web 2.0 standards.

PuBook:

PuBook is a kind of discussion board for MBiome to communicate on running projects. This allows general and paper based discussions. It allows group leader to create groups and members for the project. We developed it with the idea of organizational structure common to various scientific labs and their need for scientific discussions. As a future development, citation/reference management utilities will be added soon, so as to allow groups to collectively work on manuscript development.

MChip:

It has become a standard practice to validate microarray findings with different microarray platforms or a particular microarray application with another different microarray application, for example DNA Methylation vs gene expression chips. Most often, the chips used for such cross comparison would be selected without having a proper knowledge of intrinsic content of genome imprinted in chips and extent of exploitation between the chips. Hence, our analysis pipeline would allow one to compare the different microarray chips related to same application or different applications and provide a comprehensive picture of chips which are in comparison pipeline and predict the best set of chips for given experiment.
